Getting inspiration by his elder brother Rang Rao Badseshi in the painting field, Arunkumar tried his hand in the painting field more than half century back. His first painting was the residence and garden where he, his parents and brothers were residing in Gazipura locality of Kalaburagi City. Arunkumar says whenever he sees this painting, he remembers his childhood and getting knowledge of painting in this house. In those days, drawing was taught as a subject in schools. Though teachers taught drawing to Arunkumar, he gained experience in the painting by his own efforts. Later he persuaded medical education and completed his MBBS in KMC Hubli. He completed MS as well as specialization in plastic surgery also. Visited many places n the country and delivered special lectures with regard to his medical field. Now a days there is lot of demand for plastic surgery and the experts can make money if they practice in big cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune etc. But Dr. Arunkumar says that he is not a man to run behind money. It would be enough for me if I get rightful return for my service, that is why I decided to continue to serve the patients in Kalaburagi itself. Apart from this Dr. Arunkumar served as the Professor in M. R. Medical College. He continued nursing his painting hobby in his restless profession. When he was a young boy, he used to paint as per his desire, later he got attracted by the paintings of great artists like Raja Ravivarma, Dr. S. M. Pandit, Shankar Rao Alandkar etc and he got inspired by their paintings. Though he could not get direct contact with the great artists, historical and mythological paintings of the great artists, Ajanta, Ellora and Salar Jung Museum of Hyderabad influenced on the minds of Dr. Arunkumar Badseshi. If we visit the house of Dr. Arunkumar we will see hundreds of paintings done by the Doctor on the walls of the house. Killing of Jatayu by the demon Ravana, Ugra Narasimha, Ramakrishna Ashrama of Kolkata, incidents in the stories of kings /emperors, paintings of famous film icons Rajkapur-Nargis, Kishorkumar-Nutan drawn by the pencil are the attractions in the painting collection of Dr. Arunkumar. He has also drawn the pictures of his parents with pencil. Though he has painted hundreds of arts pieces, he has not arranged even a single art exhibition. For my own satisfaction I am practicing art and not for arranging exhibition. I used to draw the paintings whenever I get mood, it may be night or day, he said. If Dr. Arunkumar takes drawing art seriously, there is no doubt that he will get name and fame in the field of art.
